Want a pet rabbit? Some of the challenges

We have noticed a temporary but serious bout of the ‘I must have a pet bunny for Easter fever.’

Below is a 7 point antidote:

1. Bunnies can live for 10 years+
2. The smaller breeds have pencil thin bones and often don’t like being picked up or carried and squished
3. The females can fall pregnant again within days of giving birth… then 30 days later ..another litter arrives!
4. The bucks are sexually active from 12 weeks old+
5. Their teeth will hunt down ALL household electric cables
6. Adult vaccinations are every 6 months
7. Myxomatosis has NO vaccine available in Australia
