Diva the Dogue De Bordeaux

Diva is a Dogue De Bordeaux, from the French Mastiff line which is one of the most ancient French dog breeds!

She came down to the emergency vet hospital as her family was worried as she was panting and bleeding from her girl parts. This had happened before and there was a concern she had an infection of her uterus.

Turns out Diva was pregnant, had gone into labour and was struggling. Once the family was over the initial surprise support was given for Diva to have emergency caesarian surgery.

Diva was amazing throughout surgery but sadly the one and only pup didn’t survive the trauma. Hospital isn’t her favourite place so as soon as possible, her family took her home with pain relief and antibiotics. Her recovery has been fabulous and this is a beautiful photo of her in the afternoon light.

The take home message is ‘some things are just not what they seem’
